SiteMinder's booking engine shows guests which room types are sold out for their dates, and which are still available. Hotel Waitlist reads both, so it can act on a fully sold-out search and on a search where only some rooms are gone.
Guests who can't book are offered a place on the waitlist. When a matching room opens, Hotel Waitlist emails them with their dates and a way straight back into your booking engine.
Your Google Tag Manager container is added in SiteMinder's direct booking settings, which loads it on your booking pages. Our tags then go into that container. If you can't find the setting, SiteMinder support can enable it for your property.
Nothing about your SiteMinder booking engine changes for your guests or your team.
We have asked SiteMinder for a direct connection. It is not available yet, and it depends on SiteMinder's approval. Until then, everything above works through your booking pages.
The tags on your booking pages see a guest's search at the moment it happens. A waitlist works later: days or weeks after the search, Hotel Waitlist has to know whether a room has opened for that guest's dates, and at what rate. A direct connection lets SiteMinder tell us that from your own inventory. It also tells us when a waitlisted guest has booked, so we stop emailing them and count the booking correctly.
Nothing. Hotel Waitlist does not change your rates, inventory, restrictions or reservations in SiteMinder.
The connection is switched on for your property only when you ask for it, and you can end it at any time, through SiteMinder or by telling us. When it ends we stop receiving your data, and the data we already hold is deleted or returned under our Data Processing Addendum with you.
How guest data is handled: UK Data Protection & Security. For platform teams: Partners.
There is no setup fee and no monthly fee. You pay a 10% commission on the net room revenue of bookings Hotel Waitlist delivers, and nothing for waitlist sign-ups that don't book.
A booking counts when it is completed in the same tracked session as a Hotel Waitlist interaction, or when it redeems a Hotel Waitlist coupon. No booking is counted twice. Full terms.
Yes. Hotel Waitlist works with SiteMinder's direct booking engine (TheBookingButton). Our tags are installed through a Google Tag Manager container on your booking pages and run alongside SiteMinder.

No. Guests who come back from a Hotel Waitlist email book through your SiteMinder booking engine as normal, so every recovered booking is a direct booking with no OTA commission.
